Schnorr von Carolsfeld, Ludwig Ferdinand
Ludwig Ferdinand Schnorr von Carolsfeld was both son and pupil of the artist Hans Veit Schnorr. He moved in the same revivalist circles as his younger brother Julius. A teacher in his own right, Ludwig Ferdinand Schnorrs best know student was Moritz von Schwind (1804- 1871), painter and friend of Schubert. In 1811 he went to work at the Academy in Vienna. He is well known for his Romantic and Nazarene style painting. Pictures by the artist are in the collections of Berlin, Munich, Vienna and elsewhere.
